Cecil Monroe Henson

Cecil Monroe Henson, age 90 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his home. Mr. Henson was born May 10, 1927 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Rev. William Ralph Henson and the late Anna Mae Dye. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Ruby Henson Poe, Eunice Henson Roberson, and Hazel Henson Ware. Cecil was a Korean War Veteran having served in the Army and Navy. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, he also loved to get out and socialize and attend local events for veterans.

Survivors include brother, Jack (Pat) Henson, sister, Edith Hyde, sister, Betty Hawkins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Adams officiating. He will lie-in-state at the church from 1-2 pm. Pallbearers include Russell Roberson, Scott Henson, David Hawkins, Don Gibbs, Tony Gibbs and Robby Hyde. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the North GA Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Friday evening from 5-9 pm.
