Carolyn Virginia Phillips, Age 83, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on
Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Mrs. Phillips was born May 17, 1938, in Fannin County, Georgia, to the late John Alphard Haren and Nora Lola Stepp Haren. Married to the love of her life, James Earl Phillips, for 65 years, Mrs. Phillips has now rejoined her loving husband's side.
A devoted Christian woman, Mrs. Phillips was a member of the North Fayette United Methodist Church located in Fayetteville, Georgia. Carolyn Virginia worked for Zayre Corporation for over 15 years, retiring in 1985 to care for her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her entire life. If asked, they would say she was the best "Mamaw" in the world. Mrs. Phillips love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will last forever in their hearts, in the lessons she taught, the wisdom she imparted upon them, and in her caring nature and warm spirit. As her mother taught her, she always said, "tomorrow is a new day."
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Brantley and son-in-law, Sam Brantley; and her daughter, Gina Moseley and son-in-law, Pat Moseley. Mrs. Phillips is also survived by her grandson, Matt Stone, granddaughter, Amanda Stone, grandson, Stephen Moseley, and grandson, Chase Moseley. Great-grandchildren include Ethan Stone, Ryleigh Stone, Adalynn Stone, and Harper Stone.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 3:00 pm, at Barns Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. Randy Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will include Matt Stone, Ethan Stone, Norris Stone, Chance McNamee, and Pat Moseley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA.
