The Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Carolyn Jane (King) McGaha, age 55 of Blairsville who passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Carolyn was born on October 7, 1958 in Young Harris, Georgia to the late Vaughn, Sr. & Margie (Elliott) King. She grew up as the "baby" of 10 children. Later, Carolyn fell in love with Tim McGaha, while working at Town Wear Garments. With a delight in love and life as seen through a child's eyes, together they embraced life for the next 28 years and believed it was the "simple things" that made the biggest difference. Tim would shower her with gifts of Teddy Bears and if he was away from home on business they would spend hours on the phone. Holiday traditions took on special meaning to Carolyn, a time where she enjoyed sharing Christmas cards and family meals. Often she was found sitting on the front porch with her dog, "little man" resting in her lap and a warm cup of coffee in hand. Carolyn & Tim loved adventure and traveled all over the States.
A member of Ebeneezer Baptist Church, Carolyn placed her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved Gospel music and old hymns. Faithful to read her Bible and always slept with it under her pillow at night. She was kind-hearted and had a special way about her. Her happiness transferred to all who were around her and her very presence seemed to make the world a better place.
She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: loving husband of 28 years, Tim McGaha; sister & brother-in-law, Minnie & Welchel Garrett; sister, Linda May Beavers; brother, Vaughn King; sister & brother-in-law, Martha & Paul Moss and sister, Pauline Bridges. Also, sharing in her legacy are several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews, Kord & Karis Gibby who were so dear to her heart. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, Hoyle & Harold King and a sister, Christine Broome.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Waylon Gibby officiating.
