Carolyn B. Gatch

Bernice Carolyn Gatch, age 81 of Hiawassee, passed away June 12, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Hospital. Mrs. Gatch was born February 3, 1930 in Mullens, SC to Franklin and Edith Brown Edwards. She had been a resident of Towns county since 1986 when she and her husband, Herb, moved from Savannah, GA. Carolyn was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee. She was a devoted Christian, Wife and Mother who prayed continually for our nation. Mrs. Gatch was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Earl Gatch.

Survivors include: husband of 64 years, Herbert S. Gatch, daughter, Brenda Braswell and her husband, Pat of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter, Teresa Belinda Gatch Coleman and her husband, Donald, of Savannah, GA, daughter, Edith Carol Gatch of Bluffton, SC, sister, Joyce Perminter of Surfside Beach, SC and 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with the Rev. Don Pickrell officiating. Interment will be in the Osborn Cemetery in Hiawassee.
