Carl Herbert Matthes

Mr. Carl Herbert Matthes, age 72, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, North Carolina. Mr. Matthes was born Saturday, December 29, 1934 in LaGloria, Cuba, a son of the late Roland Wolfgang Matthes and the late Edith Croft Matthes. He had lived in this area for the past four years, moving here from Lakeland, Florida.

Survivors include: sister, Barbara Alderman of Blairsville; and brother, Richard Matthes, of Whittier, North Carolina.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at Mulberry United Methodist Church in Mulberry, Florida, with Rev. Val Hattery officiating. Music will be provided by Laurie Hurst, Jeannetta Joiner, and George Hatch. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, Florida.
