Burton Daniel Cathell

Burton Daniel Cathell, age 95, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in his home after an extended illness. He was born on May 22, 1918 in Showell, Maryland, to Melissa (Davis) Cathell and Harry Cathell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Carolyn (Palmer) Cathell in 2008. He is survived by his children, David Cathell, of Phoenix, Arizona; Connie Lewis of Dagsboro, Delaware; Jane Jones of Blairsville, Georgia, and Lisa Cathell, of Sunrise, Florida.
Burton was an Army Air Corp veteran, training to be a fighter pilot. He worked in electronics for many years in both Baltimore, Maryland, and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He and his wife retired to Salisbury, Maryland. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and baseball, especially the Baltimore Orioles.
A private service will be held in Salisbury, Maryland, at a later date.
