Mr. Burke Ferguson, age 63, of Hiawassee passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at his home. He was born March 15, 1948 in Clarksville, GA, the son of Roy and Clyde Caroline Colbert Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson had lived in Towns County for the past 40 years, moving here from Cornelia, Georgia.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Garrett Ferguson; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Andrea Ferguson of Hiawassee; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Michael Cottrell of Hayesville, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Faye Ferguson of Cornelia, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Beverly Ferguson of Martin, GA; 3 grandchildren, Zach Cottrell, Josh Cottrell and Jade Ferguson; and 2 step-grandchildren, Nathan and Kaelyn Smith. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Rev. Mike Youngblood and Rev. Glenn Eller officiating with interment in the Osborn Cemetery. Special Music will be provided by Mrs, Sheila Eller. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers; Anthony Ferguson, Andrew Ferguson, Johnny Segers, Kenny Mantovani, Scotty Fain, Gary Dean and Randy Shook.
The family will recieve friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
