Bryan Lee Johnston, age 56, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN. Bryan was born October 4, 1968, in Marietta, OH to William "Bill" Johnston and Alice Johnston.
As a young man, Bryan attended McCaysville Church of Christ where his dad William Johnston was the minister and had the pleasure of baptizing Bryan into Christ. While at Copper Basin High School, Bryan enjoyed participating in the football program. After he finished school, he became part owner of CC's Pizza. He left CC's and went to work for a salvage company where he was responsible for hiring and managing a demolition crew.
In 1995 Bryan sustained an injury that left him home bound, where he always kept a positive attitude thanking all who helped him. During this time, he enjoyed the company of his pets and watching TV, especially politics. He loved his pets and his grandchildren. He was very proud of their accomplishments.
He had many excellent nurses and caregivers, especially, Mary and Julia. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Bryan was preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Johnston, paternal grandparents, Boyd & Grace Johnston; maternal grandparents, Eugene & Alice Sheely; uncles, Robert Paul Sheely, John Sheely, Jim Sheely, and Leroy Patterson; and step-brother Ray Ritchie.
He is survived by his mother, Alice (Jimmy) Johnston Ritchie of Cleveland, TN; son, Andrew(Kayla) Tidwell of Kingston, GA; brother, Kenny (Tammy) Johnston of Cleveland, TN; sister, Lisa (Jason) Cook of Blue Ridge, GA; step-brothers, Alan (Cindy) Ritchie and Keith (Lynn) Ritchie; step-sister, Tammy (Al Lively) Ritchie; grandchildren, Tanner Tidwell, Payton, Tidwell, and Maibelle Tidwell; aunt & uncle, Ron & Betty Savach of Hubbard, OH; aunts, Reeda Patterson of Stockbridge, GA and Debbie Sheely of Sun City, AZ; nephew, Jared Johnston; and niece Keira Cook; and many step-nephews, step nieces and cousins also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
