Mr. Bruce Ledford, age 70 of Young Harris, GA, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Ledford was born Saturday, July 2, 1938 in Towns Co., GA to the late Guy and Rendie Chastain Ledford. He was a member of Old Union Baptist Church, and a U S Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bryce Ledford.
Survivors include: wife, Abigail Johnston Ledford of Young Harris, GA, daughter, Angela Ledford of Hiawassee, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Ashleigh Ledford of Kokomo, IN, brother, Bronze Ledford of Auburn, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Brenda & Myron Turner of Blairsville, GA, sister, Belinda Post of Douglasville, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Bivian & Harry Hughes of Blairsville, GA, grandchildren, Alexis Ledford, Caleb Ledford, Joshua Ledford, Aunt, Bessie Owens of Hiawassee, GA, several nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 1:30 pm from the Old Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Burton Turner, Michael Ledford, Donald Kimsey, Ray Sutton, Fred Martin, Bretney Turner. The Class of 57 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, July 23.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Old Union Baptist Church Missions Fund.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
