Boyd "B.J." Bailey

Boyd J. "B.J." Bailey, age 88, of McCaysville, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown. Boyd was born December 9, 1933, in Etowah, TN, to the late Claude Bailey and Maebell Queen Bailey.  
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church. He had retired from Tennessee Chemical Company, where he had worked as a repairman. Boyd enjoyed gardening and tinkering with old cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Virginia "Mickey" Witzel Bailey, brother, R.C. Bailey, and sisters, Carolyn Bailey Housley and Elvenia Bailey Hallum. Survivors include his daughter, Diane Bailey, and brother, Rev. Jack R. Bailey.
Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM from the visitation room at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Taylor officiating; music will be by Dewayne Housley and Roy Tipton. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Max Housley, Tim Housley, Scott Bailey, Brett Bailey, Larry Foster, and Mike Weaver.
