Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Collins, age 67, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, who passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Bobby was born in Blairsville, a son of the late J.T. Collins and the late Della Gibson Collins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and had worked for 36 years with Windstream. Bobby will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.....a very hard worker, who loved the land and loved farming, especially growing hay. He was a member of Trackrock Baptist Church.
Family members left to treasure Bobby's memory are his loving wife, Joan, of their home; a daughter, Christy Collins, of Blairsville; son, Michael Shane Collins, of Kennesaw, Georgia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eulane "Laney" and Clint McCollum, of Blairsville and Charlene and Jack Reis, of Hiawassee; and brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Trina Collins, of Blairsville; three grandchildren: Madison, Blake and Lindsey Collins. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, December 11, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Wade Plott officiating. Special music will be presented by the Trackrock Quartet. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
The family will be meeting with friends at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville on Saturday, December 10, 2016, between the hours of 5 until 7 p.m.
