Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces services for Billy James Chambers, age 44, of Blairsville, who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at his home.
Billy was a native of Blairsville, and a lifelong resident. Billy was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church, and he enjoyed hunting to the fullest. He has left behind many family members and friends who loved him very much.
Surviving family members include his parents, Yeona and Ethel Chambers, of Blairsville; his brother, Stacy Chambers, of Blairsville.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Tommy Seay and Rev. Larry Trulove officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Jeff Butt, Charles Wright, Jeff Gooch, Harold Ledford, Michael Raper, and Barry Emerine. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary escort: Curtis Underwood, Curtis Teague, Jonathan Nichols, and Tim Deaver. Burial will be in Ivy Log Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will begin on Tuesday evening, after 6 p.m., with the family especially meeting with friends from 6 until 9 p.m.
