Billie Yvonne Long

Billie Yvonne Townsend Long, age 69, of Morganton, Georgia passed away at her home on Monday, February 28, 2022.  Mrs. Long was born on December 23, 1952 to the late Claude Rolson Townsend and Mildred Frances Roberts Townsend.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Lee Townsend.

Billie loved music, traveling, camping and being with her family.  She enjoyed reading the Bible and studying the Word of God.

Mrs. Long is survived by her husband, Steve Long and her children, Stephanie (Brian) Wingate, Gary Long, and Steve (Kacey) Long, Jr.  A brother, Ronald (Charlotte) Townsend and a sister, Judy King also survive.  Her grandchildren include Brian Wingate Jr., Katie Wingate, Emily Wingate, Scott Long, Garrett Long, Skyler Long, Lindsey Long, Gage Ficalore, Natalie Shinkevich, Brandon Bonet  and Ayla Wilson.  Two additional great-grandchildren survive; Camille and Angelina.

A memorial service for Billie is scheduled for Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 2pm from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel..  The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the 2pm memorial service hour.  Rev. Darvin Couch will officiate at the memorial service.  Flowers are being accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Long can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
