Bill Queen

Bill Carlton Queen, 83, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his home in Blue Ridge, GA. Bill was born July 9, 1941, in Blue Ridge, Georgia to the late Ralph and late Ruby Walker Queen.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Brenda Gilliam Queen; son, Jason (Esther)Queen; daughter, Kimberly (Jesse) Miller; and son Matthew (Nicole Queen); sister, Maude Ann (Bob) Power; sister, Carolyn Zuegel; brother-in laws, Hugh (Gail) Gilliam and LaVern (Janice) Gilliam; grandchildren, Hannah Queen, Bethel Queen, Moses Queen, Abram Miller, Sarah Miller, Gideon Miller, Elijah Miller, Chloe Miller, Issac Miller, Isabella Queen, Scarlett Queen, and Katherine Queen; and life-long friend, John Chastain. Several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Bill was a follower of Christ and of the Baptist Faith. He had a true entrepreneurial spirit and owned a variety of businesses around Blue Ridge. He began Queen's Tax Service in the early 1970s. His favorite pastimes included classic cars and golf. He was a pilot and could master anything. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time and supporting them. His greatest joy in life was being "pop" to his grandchildren. 

Funeral Service, on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ride Chapel with Jason and Matt Queen officiating. Music provided by Hannah, Bethel, and Moses Queen.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jesse Miller, Abram Miller, Gideon Miller, Elijah Miller, Isaac Miller, Moses Queen and Greg Wilson. Honorary pallbearers include, John Chastain, Rex Miller, Tommy Parris, and "The Body Shop Bench."

Interment will follow at Barnes Chapel Cemetery, Blue Ridge, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at Cochran-McDaniel Blue Ridge Chapel on August 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM.
