Bill (Junior) Lackey

Mr. Bill (Junior) Lackey, age 86 of Copperhill, TN passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 in Polk Co. TN. Mr. Lackey was born March 13, 1932 in Copperhill, TN to the late L. C. Lackey and the late Alma Lackey. Bill and his first wife Virginia Mae Sutton moved from the McCaysville area in 1953 to Northern Illinois. After the death of his first wife, Bill remarried and returned to McCaysville with his wife Anita in 1983, where he opened Lackey's Corner Exxon/Muffler shop.

Bill is survived by his son from his first marriage, Billy Lackey; and five step-daughters, Kathy Sutton, Melissa Burgess, Nanette Deas, Laura Queen, and Kristy Wood. He has many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren here in the North Georgia area and two granddaughters in Illinois.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 2:00 pm from the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery, in Epworth, GA with the Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Music by Judy Lackey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
