Beulah Palmer Reed, 96, of Murphy, died Oct. 9, 2008 at Murphy Medical Center.
Born May 27, 1912, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Paschal and Bessie Palmer.
She grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School, and was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church. After moving to Murphy, she worked many years in the textile industry and has lived the past 31 years in the Peachtree Community.
She was preceded in death by husband, Henry L. Reed; grandaughter, Michelle Reed; brother, James Palmer; and nephew, Junior McElreath.
Surviving are children, Eddie and Pearl Reed of New Bedford, PA; Bob and Susie Reed of Douglasville, GA; Tom and Evelyn Reed of Peachtree; Jean and Joe Volrath of Asheville, NC; Martha and David Jones of Powder Springs, GA; Betty and Jim Stout of Ellijay, GA;sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Mac McElreath of Gainesville, GA., 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; neices, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sat. Oct. 11, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, Murphy, with Rev. Aud Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Murphy.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday.
