Mrs. Beulah Mae Nichols, age 82 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Nichols was born Friday, October 16, 1925 in Gilmer County, GA to the late Carl Mashburn and the late Mary Zona Carver Mashburn. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Alvin Nichols, sons, Dewey and Phil Nichols, daughter, Polly Shultz, brother, Junior Mashburn and sisters, Alice McClellan and Lois Byrd.
Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Mary Ann and Preston Robbins of High Springs, AK, son & daughter-in-law, Lynn and Adrienne Nichols of Mt. Morris, MI, daughter & son-in-law, Marie and Jim Gleason of Clinton Township, MI, daughter & son-in-law, Melonie and Skip Payne of Murphy, NC, son, Gene Nichols of Blairsville, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Pat and George Burton of Bay City, MI, son & daughter-in-law, Terry and Della Nichols of Blairsville, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Johnny and Pam Nichols of Mocksville, NC, daughter & son-in-law, Molly and Jeff Wright of Redding, CA, son & daughter-in-law, Herb and Rita Nichols of Warren, MI, sister, Grady Mashburn of Blue Ridge, GA, sister, Jewel Mashburn of Dallas, GA, 24 grandchildren, 36 plus great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Wilcoxon and grandson, Brian Payne officiating. Music will be provided by Gloria Griggs. Interment will follow in New Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Kevin Payne, Jeff Nichols, Jordan Nichols, Gramm Shultz, Scott Warren, Justin Nichols, Tommy Phillips, Craig Jones, Kyle Nichols and Terry Nichols, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include: Carver Nichols, Jesse Nichols, Jim Higgins, and Sam Coletti.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9, Monday, July 21.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to New Union Baptist Church Building Fund.
