Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mrs. Betty Louise Fromm Wrigley, age 81, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Betty Wrigley was born in Council Grove, Kansas. She was the youngest child of three children born to Theodore Fromm and Irma Bertha Hoffmann Fromm. Betty's older brother was named Wayne and her older sister was named Doris.
She was married to George Wrigley and gave birth to three sons: Greg, Kevin, and Steve. George was in the U.S. Navy for 24 years. George and Betty met in Point Magu, California.
Early in her marriage she lived in California, where Greg was born, on Midway Island, and later on lived in Kansas where Kevin and Steve were born. It was an exciting time for the young mom to live on Midway Island. Many lifelong friendships were established during that time. In 1960, the family moved to Mableton, Georgia, when George got a job with the FAA. Betty worked at Fr. McPherson in Atlanta, and were members of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. They later moved to Bill Arp, Georgia, and in 1979, moved to the hills of Blairsville. George and Betty became members of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, and made many good friends through that church.
Memorial services for Betty have been scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville.
