Betty Lou Horne

March 9, 1940 — August 3, 2015

Mrs. Betty Lou Lindsey Horne, age 75 of Murphy, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center. Mrs. Horne was born March 9, 1940 in Crystal Springs, MS to the late JB Lindsey and the late Nell Vaughn Lindsey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McCaysville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three infant sons; David Allen Davis, Kenneth Lang Davis, and Gary Dwayne Davis, one brother; Jimmy Lindsey and sister; Pat Ellis. Betty enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time such as, painting, basket weaving, crocheting and wood working and she was a member of the Stitches of Love group.

Survivors include loving husband of 28 years; Jesse B. Horne, daughter; Daphne McDonald Matchen, son; Karei McDonald, daughter; Lindsey McDonald, brothers and sisters; Jerry Lindsey, Kay Lindsey Smith, Judy Lindsey Woods, Jackie Lindsey and Billy Lindsey, four grandchildren; Kathryn Pipper Hendrickson, Mark Steven Pipper, Jr., Mary Claire Pipper and John David Pipper, three great-grandchildren; Lily Grace Hendrickson, Addalyn Day Pipper, and Beckett Evan Pipper.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of McCaysville with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Music provided by Ed Vest, Ryan and Holly Norton and Nathan Parris. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers include Bob Welch, Tom Foster, James George, Chuck Clayton, Ross Abernathy, Billy Acton and Larry Kimsey. Honorary pallbearers are the Crusaders Men's Sunday School Class, the Joy Ladies Sunday School Class and The Stitches of Love Group.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the First Baptist Church of McCaysville designated funds or to your favorite charity in Betty's memory.
