Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Betty Kelley Williams, age 80 of Blairsville, who passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Stonehenge Assisted Living in Blairsville.
Betty was born March 4, 1936 in Blairsville, a daughter of the late Virge Kelley and the late Snow Addington Kelley. She was a lifelong resident of Blairsville, and a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. Betty had been a council woman for the City of Blairsville, and had been active in Union County Historical Society. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by the father of her son Jim, James M. Williams, and a sister, Ella Sue Kelley Hamby.
Family members left behind to treasure Betty's memory include: son, James Kelley Williams; grandchildren: Blake Williams and his fiancee, Maddie DeLee and Candice Williams, and nephew, Tony Hamby and his wife Catherine
Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Rock Chapel of First Baptist Church Blairsville. The body will lie in state at the church Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Jerry Dyer, Terry Jones, Tony Hamby, Jeff Walker, Jim Conley, and Lamar Paris. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Larry Nichols. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
