Betty Joann Bennett Mitchell

Betty Joann Bennett Mitchell, age 86 of Milner, Ga. passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson. She was born in Butts County, Ga. on November 8, 1931, daughter of the late Reuben Travis Bennett and Lena Maude Harris Bennett.

Betty Mitchell was married to the later Roy Harold Mitchell who passed away in 2005.

Mrs. Mitchell had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Ga. until she moved her letter to the McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee, Ga. She had been a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Mitchell resided in Hiawassee for 18 years until she moved back to Milner, Ga. Betty Mitchell loved life, her family and her Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Miriam Thomason (Mitchell) and Margaret Patterson (Randy), Grandsons; Bradley Baker, Lil-Mitch Thomason and Caleb Thomason; Sister in law; Gwen Mitchell and several Nieces and Nephews.

Betty Mitchell is predeceased by her brother Charles Reuben Bennett.

Funeral services for Betty Joann Bennett Mitchell will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Osburn Cemetery in Hiawassee, Ga. Rev. Mitchell Thomason will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Haisten Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.

Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson is in charge of arrangements for Betty Joann Bennett Mitchell, and Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee is assisting in arrangements in Hiawassee.
