Betty Jean Roper

Betty Jean Roper, age 67 of Ellijay, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Piedmont Mountain Side Hospital in Jasper, GA. Mrs. Roper was born May 28, 1950 in Morganton, GA and was a member of the Sunlight Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA. She enjoyed playing the piano, going to the Cherokee Casino, and spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Mama Neeny. Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Gorden Roper and her granddaughter, Skyler Dodd.

Survivors include: daughter, Joy (James) Zook, son, Jamie Roper, son, Jody Roper, son, Jeremy (Kellye) Roper, son, Jackie Lynn Roper, daughter, Jennifer (David) Stanley, daughter, Jessica (Triston) McFarland, grandchildren, Abagail, Hannah, Sadie Bird, Isabella, Jaxson, Toot Toot, Jeremiah, and E. J.

Funeral services: Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Cox and the Rev. Jeremy Lacy officiating. Music provided by: John Davis and Corey Barnett. Interment will follow in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Lee Setser, Jamie Zook, Jimmy McCoy, Adam McCoy.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, January 6, 2018, 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
