Betty Jean Hooper

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Conley Hooper, age 86, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, who passed away on Friday evening, April 15th, 2022, in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.

Mrs. Hooper was born in Blairsville, Georgia, a daughter of the late Fred B. Conley and the late Vista Deyton Conley. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County, and she enjoyed reading and nature. Her husband, Vinson, preceded her in death, as well as a son, Johnny Vinson Hooper; a sister, Louise Rice, and a brother, Robert Conley.

Surviving family members include a son, Timothy Gene Hooper, of Blairsville; and son, Jeffery Conley Hooper, of Flowery Branch, Georgia; sister, Debbie Whitfield; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Erma Conley; brother, Leon Conley; and brother, Richard Conley; four grandchildren: Donja Danielle Hooper; Reagan Xie Mei Hooper; McKenzie Shan Shan Hooper; and Deven Pike Hooper also survive.

Visitation: Wednesday, April 20th, 2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, April 20th, 2022, starting at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: Timothy Gene Hooper, Jeffery Conley Hooper, Roy Conley, Leon Conley, and Richard Conley. Burial will be in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery, where Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband, Vinson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions to be made to Zebulon Baptist Church, 582 Airport Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
