Betty Jane (Greene) Cook, age 92 of McCaysville, passed away May 15, 2017 at Union General Hospital. Mrs. Cook was born September 14, 1924 in Copperhill, TN to the late Mark Greene and the late Etha Dalton Greene. Mrs. Cook graduated from Copperhill High School in 1942. Later she attended Knoxville Business College. Mrs. Cook worked at the Tennessee Copper Company for the Purchasing and Supply Departments for 6 years. She married Charles H. Cook in 1952. She was A member of the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill since age 14. Betty also gave 2,000 plus hours as a nurse aid for the Red Cross in military hospitals. She was an avid golfer and would play three to four times a week. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by father, Mark Greene, mother, Etha Dalton Greene, brothers, Emil Greene, Bill Greene and Johnny Greene.

Survivors include: son, Charles "Chuck" H. Cook, Jr., one nephew Mark Greene (Nancy) and two nieces Beth Greene Towe (Tim) and Sherrie Greene Loadholtz (Tex) friend Charles Duncan.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel and friend Charles Duncan officiating. Music provided by Virginia Webb.
