Betty Davenport Henderson

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs. Betty Davenport Henderson, age 73, lifelong resident of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, August 16th, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Henderson was born in Morganton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Vernon Davenport and the late Ella Vee Newman Davenport. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Besides her parents, Betty had been preceded in death by two sisters, Anita Almos and Marie Fortenberry, and her beloved husband, Louis Henderson, also preceded her in death.

Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Kristina Henderson, of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Roy Hefner, of Blairsville, and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Wayne Aldridge, of Cleveland, Georgia; two grandchildren: Ivy Chambers and Weston Callahan. Many other relatives and many friends also survive.

Due to community concerns regarding COVID 19, the family has planned private family services for Wednesday, August 19th, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Private family visitation will be held on Wednesday, at the funeral home, starting at 12 noon. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Isaac Stokes, Nick Fortenberry, Jeremy Henderson, and Avery Dodd. Burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
