Mrs. Bennie Sue Hancock, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the Fannin Regional Hospital. Mrs. Hancock was born in Murphy, NC, on November 29, 1934, to the late George Ledford and the late Cora Cook Ledford. She was a member of Kingtown Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, creating stained glass, and working in her church. Bennie Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Hancock and nine siblings.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo (Greg) Towe, granddaughters, Nichole (fiance’ Jake Evans) Davenport, and Jennifer (Jamie) Ellington, grandson, Jason (Amanda) Towe, great-grandchildren, Barron Davenport, Braylee Davenport, Jada Ellington, and Kadence Ellington, Keaton Towe, Karder Towe, Korben Towe, Kennah Towe, Kaelynn Towe, and Kylah Towe, brother, Ronnie Ledford, and sisters-in-law Rosie Harris, Tootie Ledford, and Willa Mae Ballew.
Funeral services: Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 4:00 pm, from the Kingtown Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Parris and Rev. Joey Buchanan officiating. Music provided by Brian Huffman. Pallbearers: Tim Towe, Todd Towe, Matt Sandefur, Barron Davenport, Keaton Towe, and Karder Towe. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memorial Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends at Kingtown Baptist Church Saturday, January 9, 2019, from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm.
