Benjamin W. McDaniel

Benjamin W. McDaniel, Jr. age 91 of Morganton, formerly of Beech Island, SC, passed away December 16, 2017 at his home. Mr. McDaniel was born July 29, 1926 in Winston Salem, NC to the late Benjamin W. McDaniel, Sr. and the late Dody Elizabeth Brown McDaniel. A member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, Benjamin was retired from the US Navy having served during WWII and the Korean War and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge #391 Beech Island, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Dennis Warren McDaniel.

Survivors include loving wife, Elaine Graham McDaniel, son, Michael (Diana) M. McDaniel of Beech Island, SC, Nuel D. McDaniel of Columbia, SC, daughter, Kelleen (Frank) P. Thomas of Morganton, GA, three sisters, Francis Bagley, Constance (Morley) Read, and Joyce (Charles) Koss, nine grandchildren, David Skinner, Deanna McDaniel, Jarrod Skinner, Kenneth Wood IV, Linda Moore, Michael Lee McDaniel, Salina Thomas, Christina Cuz and Frank Thomas, also seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Beech Island, SC with pastor Greg Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Pineview Cemetery in North Augusta, SC.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 5-8 pm.
