Dr. Benjamin Randolph Page, Jr., age 83 of Young Harris, GA, formerly of Savannah, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Chatuge Regional Hospital.
Dr. Page was born Wednesday, June 3, 1925 in Toombs County, GA to the late Benjamin Randolph Page, Sr. and the late Thelma Lugenia Hall Page. He was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church and a WWII Army veteran serving in the Phillipines with the 158th RCT Bushmasters. In Savannah he was a member of the Alee Temple Shriners, the AMBUCS for 35 years, a Mason for over 40 years, a member of the Elks Lodge and past president of Georgia Veterinarian Medical Association. Dr. Page was former owner of Page Animal Hospital in Savannah where he took care of the health of UGA Mascots 1-4.
Survivors include: wife, Patricia Sorrells Page of Young Harris, GA, daughter, Nan Bennette Page of Townsend, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Shirley and Neil Putnam of Centreville, VA, son & daughter-in-law, Randolph and Michelle Page of Dunwoody, GA, step-daughter, Marsha Wilkerson of Savannah, GA, step-daughter and husband, Julianne and Gary Fowler of Milledgeville, GA, brother, Eugene Page of LaGrange, GA, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from McConnell Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Rudy Patton officiating. Music will be provided by McConnell Memorial Baptist Church Choir. Graveside services and military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday October 30, 2008 in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, October 28.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to McConnell Memorial Baptist Church Continuing The Vision.
