Beni Sturcken

Mrs. Beni Sturcken, age 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Shirley Legare, Ed Sturcken, Lynn Melick, Linda Grandanetti, Butch Entrekin, and Link Entrekin, fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edward Sturcken of Charleston, SC, and her three siblings. Beni was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville. She will be buried in Charleston next to her husband.

Beni was born in Wrightsville, GA, to Benny Frank Waller and Ethel Downs. She was the Valedictorian of her high school class.

Beni had many roles in her life, wife, mother, owner and operator of Rocky Horse Day Nursery, and owner and manager of Doral Apartments. Beni was a great cook and loved entertaining and creating a warm environment for numerous guests in her home as well as her family. Other loves of Beni's life were dancing gold, and the game of Bridge and other card games. Most of all Beni loved Jesus and took every opportunity to share His story with anyone who would listen.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Blairsville at a later date.
