Barbara Clay Tyler, 81, of Fayetteville, GA passed away on March 21, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Barbara was born on January 3, 1942 to Mattie and Harmon Clay in Murphy, NC. She attended High School in Murphy, graduating in 1960. After High School she moved to Atlanta, GA and met Robert Earl Tyler whom she married in 1961. Barbara and Robert lived in Macon GA, Douglasville GA, Fairbanks AK and both retired to Murphy in 1992. Barbara loved art and was an avid artist for 56 years, teaching art from her home studios. Barbara was a devoted Christian and had a sincere love for the Lord. Barbara and Robert became Ordained Ministers in 1998 and began a jail ministry in Murphy, NC where they both touched many lives. Barbara's joyful spirit influenced everyone she met. Barbara's smile, laughter, and faith leaves a treasured legacy to all those who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her Parents (Mattie & Harmon), Husband (Robert Tyler), Son (Barry Tyler), Robert Clay (brother). She is survived by her son, Patrick Tyler (Nikki), grandson Matthew Tyler (Addy), granddaughter Olivia Tyler Bourg (Andrew). Barbara has one great granddaughter, Emma Tyler.
Grave Side Service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy, NC.
