Barbara Jean Garrett (Deaver)

Mrs. Barbara Deaver Garrett, age 54, of Blairsville passed away Monday morning in Union General Hospital. Mrs. Garrett was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and growing beautiful flowers. Barbara also loved animals, especially her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis "Hambone" Garrett in 2008, her father, Ray Deaver in 1994, and two sisters, Sherrie Allison in 2004 and Sandra Foster in 2007.

Survivors include; son and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Michelle Duckworth of Blairsville, son, Dale Duckworth of Monroe, GA, step-daughter, Stacy Garrett Corn of Blairsville, mother, Charlsie Deaver, brother, Danny Deaver, sister, Carolyn Hughes and brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Carolyn Sullivan, all of Blairsville and grandchildren, Kimber and Ales Duckworth, Kaitlyn Kelly, Josh Corn, Maranda Stephens, Ashley Stephens, Kayla Mathieu and Kayla Corn.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Brian Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the Ivy Log Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
