Audrey Niggemeyer Parmiter Carpenter
Audrey passed on to the Lord February 09, 2009 after suffering medical complications for over two months in Murphy Medical Center, Murphy, NC. She split her residence between Murphy, N.C. and Marietta, OH. Prior to purchasing her home in N.C., she spent 37 winters in Arcadia, FL. Audrey was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint William Catholic Church in Murphy and Saint Mary's in Marietta, OH.
Audrey was born December 29, 1924 to Catholic parents, Carrie and George Niggemeyer of Athens County, Ohio. She is survived by her son, Larry C. Parmiter and daughter-in-law Kathy of Murphy, N.C. She also has one step daughter, Naoma Irelan of Michigan and three step sons, Ron, William, and Danny Carpenter. She has four grandchildren, Larry C. Parmiter II and wife, Cindy, Jeri Beach and husband Thomas Jack C. McGee and wife, Becky, Sonya Abbott and husband, David. Seven great-grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, Clarabel Ulichney of Athens, OH. and Pauleta King of Fort Myers, Fla.. She has two sister-in-laws from the Parmiter family, Marge Tomsic of Anchorage, AK., and Wilbur Parmiter's wife Blanch of Athens, OH.
Audrey was emploed by J.C. Penny Co. in Parkersburg, WV for 10 years. Prior to that she sold House of Stuart for six years as a manager. For the past 36 years she owned and opderated her own business, C&A Mini Market of Marietta, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosalyn M. O'Connor, and husband, Clifford A. Parmiter. In 1990, she married Hubert Carpenter who was deceased in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George and Carrie Niggemeyer, sisters, Thelma, Agnes, and Mary.
Audrey enjoyed life and loved everyone. She had lots of friends and never ever met a "stranger"
