Armistice H. Drymon, “Roger”, age 78 of Murphy NC passed away peacefully at his home on Monday May 20th,2024. Roger is survived by his wife Ruth Drymon, his best pup friend George and his cat buddy JB, his mother-in-law Myrtle Williamson, his beloved niece and protector Megan (Aaron) Beaver, great nephew Bentley and great niece Blayre all of Murphy, NC, also two children Stewart Drymon and Donna Faye Drymon of Florida. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Herbert Armistice and Willie Irene Drymon, sister Beatrice Drymon and his longtime friend Grant Paolini. 


Roger served in the army from 1961-1968 during that time he served in Vietnam from 1966-1967. Roger was qualified in multi-engine fixed wing aircrafts while serving in the Army. Roger enjoyed many outdoor activities including, fishing, scuba diving, flying his personal plane and being the captain of his saltwater boat where he traveled to the Bahamas and different ports in between. Roger owned and operated several successful businesses in Florida and North Carolina. He enjoyed building custom homes and cabins in North Carolina the most of all. 


Roger belonged to multiple different organizations including the 32nd Masons Phenix Lodge in Sarasota FL, The Shriners and the Shriners Cycle Unit and the Army Otter Caribou Association. Roger lived a long fulfilling life and credits that to our Lord and Savior who he praised and loved.

 

Services will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy, NC on Friday May 24th at 6pm with pastor Sam Morrow officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-6pm May 24th at the funeral home. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Honorary pallbearers, Jerry Tinney, Wayne Abbott, Ray Lozada, Aaron Beaver, Raymond Hunt and Norman Griffin. 


Friends and family may send condolences and flowers to the funeral home or in lieu of flowers if you see a struggling VET, pass something on if only a kind word or hug.
