Mr. Arlin Edward Postell, Age 87 of Red Marble Road, Andrews.
He was born in Cherokee County, NC May 27, 1923 to the late James W. and Hassie Totherow Postell.
He had worked as a logger and was a member of Red Marble Baptist Church.
Mr. Postell was preceded in death by his wife, Hermie West Postell, two sons, Garland and Jimmy David Postell, three brothers, Ralph, Vincent and Alex Postell and two sisters, Sally Trantham and Lassie Derreberry.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolin and Roger Franklin, daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Younce, daughter and son-in law, Linda and Charles Wall, daughter, Betty Hooper, son and daughter-in-law Randy and Lavern Postell, son, Stanley Postell, daughter-in-law, Linda Gail Postell Passmore, and one brother, Rev. France Postell. 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 3p.m. from the Red Marble Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Postell, Rev. Mickey Stewart and the Rev. David Postell officiating. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Terry Postell, Dewayne Wall, Scott Franklin, John Franklin, Brandon Hooper and Nathan Postell. Honorary pallbearers include the following: Justin Postell, Bud Postell, Doug Postell, Howard Trantham, Coy Postell, Roy Postell, Alan Postell, Alan Kirby and Jamie Hooper. The family will be receiving friends Thursday at the Red Marble Baptist Church from 1p.m. until the funeral hour.
