Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Anne Tucker, age 76, of Young Harris, Georgia, who passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Tucker was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on March 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Charles Berry and the late Medora White Berry. She and her husband moved to Blairsville in 1999 from Ocala, Florida. Anne was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville and had been active in the Women's Missionary Union, and was a member of Faith Builders Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Blairsville. She was an artist, and loved to cook, paint and sew.
Anne was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all, especially her family members: husband Kelvin, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Leslie Tucker, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie S. and Vonda Tucker, of Santafe, Tennessee; and son, Robert M. Tucker, of Ocala, Florida; a sister, Janice Torres, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and brother, Donald Berry, of Daytona Beach, Florida; four grandchildren: Jason Allan Tucker, Johnathan L. Tucker, Danielle L. Tucker, and Annabelle Joy Tucker; two great grandchildren: Logan B. Tucker and Brelynn A. Tucker.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2013, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected by the family to serve as honorary pallbearers: Bill Foster, Paul Ellis, David Hale, Jimmy Payne, Max Cochran, and Vernon Tucker. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home at 11 am on Thursday, for one hour prior to the funeral service starting.
Flowers are being graciously accepted; however, if you wish to do so, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
