Mrs. Anna Mae Martin, age 85 of Blairsville, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born March 17, 1933 in Blairsville, GA to the late Howard Christopher Atkins and the late Dessie Brackett Atkins. Ann was a lifelong resident of Union County and was of the Baptist Faith. She loved her Lord dearly, and was a constant source of inspiration and encouragement; and she was known dearly as a staunch prayer warrior. "Annie" was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a very proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Ann had worked with United Community Bank for 26 years and retired as an Assistant Vice President. She was known by family, friends, and customers to love her collections, especially her rock and arrowhead collections. Anna Mae will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Almarie Hamby, Josephine Latham, and Mary Belle Atkins.
Survivors include: husband, Jack Martin of Blairsville, daughters, Michelle (Terry) Ingram and Valerie (Craig) Dyer, both of Young Harris; step-son, Greg (Buffie) Martin of Webb City, MO; step-daughter, Jennifer Martin (Mike) Perkins of Swartz Creek, MI; and step-daughter, Emily Martin of Opelika, AL; Brother, Harold (Liz) Atkins of Blairsville; grandson, Isaac Joseph Ingram; granddaughter, Miranda Totherow; great grandson, Jace Totherow; great grandson, Jaxon Totherow; great granddaughter, Miya Totherow; and great grandson, Jep Lance. She was also an aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services: Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery, Blairsville, GA, with pastor Scotty Jarrard officiating. Pallbearers: Isaac Joseph Ingram, Jaxon Totherow, Justin Lance, Craig Dyer, Terry Ingram, and Jace Totherow.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home, as is per Anna Mae's request and wishes.
