Andrew Hammock

Mr. Andrew Paul Hammock, age 47, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at his residence. Mr. Hammock was born on September 29, 1976 to Gary Alden and Linda Mctyre Hammock, in Decatur, Georgia.

He worked for some years in retail management before enlisting in the United States Navy at the age of 31. He rose to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (E-5) and was deployed during Operation Enuring Freedom on the USS George H. W. Bush in 2011. Though he only served four years, his work ethic and attention to detail earned him two Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medals and a Good Conduct Service Medal, among others.

Andrew was a gifted guitarist and pianist. He enjoyed, as an artist, fine art acrylic painting. He found pleasure in archery, fishing and more fishing.

He is survived by his spouse, Anne Lautzenheiser Hammock; parents, Gary and Linda Hammock; sister, April (Chris Wuchte) Hammock and beloved pets Lola and Pepper.

A celebration of life remembering Andrew will be held at a later date in New Orleans, Louisiana.
