America Marie McLaughlin Chambers of Cumming, GA and formerly of Decatur and
Stone Mountain was born on Flag Day in 1924 and passed away on January 29, 2011.
Her beautiful smile and kind and loving ways will be missed by many. She retired from
The Presbyterian Center in Atlanta.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Cheryl McLaughlin (Sonny) Brittain of Cumming,
GA; son, Ed (Bonnie) McLaughlin of Snellville, GA; grandchildren, Alison (Jeff)Todd of
Cumming, GA, Russell McLaughlin of Boston, MA, David McLaughlin of Milledgeville,
GA; Kelsey McLaughlin of Athens, GA; step-daughter, Michael Chambers of Columbia,
SC; sisters, Jeanette (Jim) McDaris of Smyrna, GA and Etta Ballew of Mineral Bluff, GA;
many nieces and nephews; and her family at White Oaks of Lanier.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Salem
Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff, GA. The Rev. Dr. Jim Dwiggins will officiate. Interment
will follow at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on
Thursday, February 3 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home and on
Friday, February 4 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Henry Cochran Funeral Home in Blue Ridge,
GA.
