Amber Leann Harper

February 17, 1972 — September 29, 2024

Morganton, GA

Amber Leann Harper, 52, of Morganton, Georgia passed away September 29, 2024 after a legendary battle with cancer. Her passing was peaceful, and she was surrounded by loved ones.

Amber was born on February 17, 1972 to William & Patricia Sosebee in Atlanta, Georgia.

Amber’s only child, Justin Tyler Laney, was born in March 1993 during a snowstorm.

Amber met Kenneth Harper in the spring of 1994, and they were married December 9, 1995. “The Keeper of the Stars” (Tracy Byrd) was one of their wedding songs.

Amber was a successful entrepreneur with her online company Ten Digit Creations. Her supplemental income to Kenny’s law enforcement career provided them the financial opportunity to purchase real estate in the Georgia mountains for early retirement. Although their retirement years together were short, Amber was right where she wanted to be.

Amber was an avid reader and cross-stitch enthusiast. She completed jigsaw puzzles and loved playing board games, card games & dominoes. She had bouts of interest practicing yoga, growing flowers, and maintaining fish aquariums. She loved animals, especially her Chihuahuas, Nova & Frito, who already miss her dearly.

Amber chose quality over quantity in friends, and her best friend Tina Smith was rightfully by her side when she passed away.

Other notable relationships that impacted Amber’s life include the entire Ramey family, Brittany Mathers, Kalie Harper Pritchard, and Melanie Reese Stoehr.

Amber is survived by a large family who loved her so much: her husband Kenneth Harper, son Justin Laney and wife Brianna Myers, granddaughters Raven & Jade, step-daughter Carrie, and step-grandson Grady. Her parents William & Patricia Sosebee, siblings Melanie Miller, Manda Kellogg, Holly Brickey, Haley Kirkpatrick, Cassie Kirkpatrick, and Will Sosebee. Extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.

Amber was preceded in death by her Paternal and Maternal Grandparents.

Amber knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and we have the peace that passes all understanding we will see her again one day.
