Amanda Lou Sosebee

Mrs. Amanda Lou Sosebee, of Marble, NC passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. Mrs. Sosebee was born November 11, 1947 in Cherokee County, NC to the late Robert Luther Chastain and the late Ida Mae Morton Chastain. A member of the New Martin's Creek Baptist Church she was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Anna Mae Chastain, Dixie Chastain Jones, Ruby Chastain Aguilera and Willie Chastain Payne, seven brothers, Grover Chastain, Leander Chastain, L.C. Chastain, J.B. Chastain, Billy Chastain, Frank Chastain, and Ernest Chastain. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include husband, Donald Sosebee, three sons, Leon (Tina) Sosebee, LeRoy Sosebee and Larry (Ramona) Sosebee, two sisters, Mary Alice McCoy and Helen Ashe, two brothers, Benjamin Chastain and Phillip Chastain, six grandchildren, Andrew Sosebee, Whitney Sosebee, Cameron Sosebee, Chandler Sosebee, Chelsea Sosebee Ingram and Cody Sosebee, and one great-grandchild, Taylah Ingram.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the New Martin's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Hoyt Brown, Rev. Ralph Bernard and Rev. Paul Ray Morgan officiating. The interment will take place in the New Martin's Creek Cemetery with Rev. Aud Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Sosebee's nephews, Derwin Chastain, Wendell Chastain, Johnny McCoy, Bruce Chastain, Alan Chastain and Dean Chastain. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew, Cameron, Chandler and Cody Sosebee.
The family will receive friends at the New Martin's Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 12-2 pm.
