Annette "Net" Sutton Ross, age 70, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away August 13, 2021, at her home. Annette was born April 1, 1951, in Copperhill, TN, to the late Eugene Sutton and the late Cora Mae Lackey. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Sutton, mother, Cora Mae Lackey Sutton.
In death, we find a surprising richness of emotions; sorrow, hope, peace, a welling up of sacred energy, an appreciation of collateral beauty. Mom fought hard for those she loves. Supported by her through difficult times, we too became stronger, better versions of ourselves.
We enjoyed her dry sense of humor, her beautiful singing voice, her creative energy, and her words of wisdom. Terry likes Debbie’s scrambled egg sandwiches more than mom’s, but no one is perfect.
There is a season for all things. The Bible tells us so. The Byrds sing it. Mom’s favorite things at the end, watching her birds, Baby Joe, her family, and reading. Hours of reading. She read Dean Koontz recently. My favorite quote of his keeps running through my mind as I write this morning. “...there is a purpose to life, and meaning, and everything we do counts in the end...”
Blessedly, most of those closest to mom live on; her husband, Terrance “Terry” Ross, her children, Jamie, Misty, Cammy, and the adored grandbaby. Her brothers, Larry and Kenny Sutton, her longtime friend, Mary Beavers Patterson, the many others who touched her life in ways we may never understand, and her sweet pups, Joe and BB.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 28th, at Horse Shoe Bend from 4 pm -7 pm. Please bring a dish for all to enjoy. In lieu of flowers, please contact Cochran Funeral home regarding a donation to the cost of her cremation.
Fly high, Mama, you will be missed!
