Allie Hyatt, 82, of Mineral Bluff died August 18, 2008 at his home. Born in Fannin County on February 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Manuel Hyatt and the late Dovie Garren Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Hyatt worked as both a carpenter and logger throughout his life. He was also an ordained minister and has served as pastor for several area churches. Mr. Hyatt was also a Master Mason at Mineral Bluff Masonic Lodge.
Minister Hyatt was preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings, Wayne Hyatt, Ethner Nichols, Myrtle Morris, and Jessie Hyatt.
Survivors include, wife, Geneva Hyatt, daughters; Glenda Keith of McDonough, GA, Debbie Nelson of Holly Springs, GA, Phyllis Ross of Mineral Bluff, GA, Donna Hannah of Mineral Bluff, GA, and Sherry Walker of Blairsville, GA; grandchildren; Dwayne Millsaps, Nathan Millsaps, Matthew Hannah, Steven Nelson, Amber Keith Vickers, David Keith, Brian Keith, Tiffany Ross Brown, Allison Ross Tuck, Kimberly Ross, Megan Walker and Madeline Walker; seven great grandchildren; Parker Brown, Harrison Brown, Logan Vickers, Laney Vickers, Gavin Tuck, and Caleigh Tuck.
Funeral services were held at Salem #2 Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff, Georgia with the reverend Bill Johnson, Reverend John Newton, and Reverend Roy Clore officiating. Masonic services by the Mineral Bluff Masonic Lodge. Serving as pallbearers were Dwayne Millsaps, Nathan Millsaps, Matthew Hannah, Mitchell Brown, Roger Ross and Steven Nelson. Honorary pallbearers were nephews and special friends.
