Mrs. Alice Tatham Hogsed, age 89 of Andrews, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. Mrs. Hogsed was born February 24, 1924 in Andrews, NC to the late Purd Tatham and Minnie Rogers Tatham. Mrs. Hogsed was a teacher for 40 years in every grade from 1-8 in Topton, Marble and Andrews. She was a Sunday school teacher and an active member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a member of the church choir. She enjoyed activities with children, crocheting, Swedish weaving on monks cloth, nature, birds and mountains. She was preceded in death by husband of 66 years, Ray Hogsed..
Survivors include: daughter, Norvel Jean Hogsed, son, Malcolm (Jean) Hogsed, nephew, Robert (Sharon) Howell, sister in law, Doris Ann Rogers, sister in law, Kathleen Tatham, niece, Diane, granddaughters, Malisha and Breeze, grandsons, Nathan and Jonah, great granddaughter, Mackenna.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Andrews United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Hawk officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Andrews United Methodist Church of Andrews, Wednesday, February 05, 2014 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
