Alice Jean Wright, age 66, of Atlanta, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Bessie Mae (Smith) Bain of Reliance, TN. She was a member of the graduating class of 1958 West Fannin High School. Here, she played guard for the Varsity Basketball Team and she was known as "Speedy". Mrs. Wright attended Lebanon Baptist Church in Epworth, Georgia. She was currently attending Brushy Knob Baptist Church and formeraly the First Baptist Church of Conley. An employee of Bell South for thirty years, she since had enjoyed seventeen years of retirement and was member of the "Telephone Pioneers".
She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, Thomas "Tommy" Wright, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Rob Buice of Toccoa, GA; son, Thomas O. Wright of Douglasville, GA: grandchildren, Kelly, Chris, and Amy Buice; and Sharon and Matthew Wright; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Shirley and Fred Farmer, Beverly and George Carter, June Haywood, Brenda and Buford Jenkins, Beth and Dave Torbert, along with sisters-in-law and brothers-inlaws,Barbara Turner, Hoyt and Mary Wright, Martha Edwards, Mary Wright, Jimmy and Fran Wright and Cathy Powers.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 2:00 pm from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. David McCellen officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are
