Aleen Patterson Turner

Mrs. Aleen Patterson Turner, age 97 of Newnan, passed away January 17, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Turner was born December 23, 1919 in Tennga, GA to the late Lee Onzo Patterson and the late Bessie Smith Patterson. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church and former member of Morganton Baptist Church she enjoyed quilting, needle work, cooking and talking on the phone with her family and friends. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and she was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 53 years, Loys Turner.

Survivors include: son, Roger Turner, daughter, Ruth (Tom) Farabaugh, sister, Marie Norton, grandchildren, Eric Farabaugh, Monica (Mike) Heggood, James (Cindy) DeBerry, Kevin DeBerry, Joshua DeBerry, great-grandchildren, Morgen Heggood, Macie Heggood, Skye DeBerry, Lucas DeBerry, Hayden DeBerry, Tylar DeBerry, Gianna DeBerry, great-great grandchild, Hunter DeBerry and step daughter, Thelma Churchwell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Eric Farabaugh, James DeBerry, Kevin DeBerry, Joshua DeBerry, Lucas DeBerry and Mike Heggood.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted or you can make a donation in Aleen's memory to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund c/o James Gilliam, 4485 Loving Rd. Morganton, GA 30560.
