Alberta Mae Cochran, age 83 of Morganton, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Mrs. Cochran was born September 9, 1935, to the late Francis LaVoy and Lucille Ras LaVoy, Klosowski. She enjoyed attending church services at Chatuge Nursing Home, taken care of people, baking, volunteering, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Walter Cochran, Jr., sisters, Ginny Tipton and Donna Tipton, brothers, William LaVoy and Sonny LaVoy, and grandson, Aaron Cochran.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara (Randy) Hughes, sons, Walter K (Sarka) Cochran, Michael (Mary) Cochran and Terry Cochran, Grandchildren Chad Cochran, Sandy Cochran Morris, Toby Cochran, Mollie Hughes Pritchett, Benjamin Hughes, Michael Cochran Jr. Matthew Cochran, Mark Cochran, Justin Cochran and step-grandchildren Mitchel Browning, Jennifer Beach, and Christopher Durand, twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services: Monday, May 6, 2019, at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Chad Cochran, Michael Cochran, Jr. Randy Hughes, Ben Hughes, Terry Pritchett, and Kelly Towe.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Monday, May 13, 2019, 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm.
