Albert "A.G." G. Sherman, Jr., 89, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on January 17, 2025. He was born on December 2, 1935, in Miami, FL, to the late Albert and Pauline Sherman.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, and his dedication to service was a testament to his strong character.
A. G. had a deep love for baseball and played on a traveling team during his years in Florida. He was also a passionate fan of the Florida Gators, always cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. His delight in God's creative nature was evident in the way he appreciated the beauty of the world around him.
Throughout his life, Albert was known for his kindness and compassion towards animals. He often helped rehabilitate injured wildlife, ensuring they returned safely to their natural habitats. His commitment to the well-being of animals extended to his volunteer work as a pet parent, where he brought joy and care to those in need.
A. G. held a prominent position in his community, serving several terms as president of the Lake Notley Improvement Association. His leadership and dedication to improving his surroundings left a lasting impact on many.
He is survived by his forever loved wife Miriam B. Sherman of 60 years in marriage; siblings Paula Jean Holley; nephew Edward (Eddy) Bennett; other nieces and nephews; and several cousins and many friends also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Pauline Sherman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Blairsville, GA.
The family will recieve friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, at First United Methodist Church of Blairsville, GA.

He will be remembered fondly for his warm spirit and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
