Mrs. Agnes Prince Parris Clemmer, age 86 of McCaysville passed away Saturday morning, August 13, 2011. She was born in Fannin County Georgia April 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Lester and Nancy Harrison Prince.
Mrs.Clemmer was an active member of Williamstown United Methodist Church for over sixty years, Williamstown WSCS, and the Primetime Choir. She was a retired educator serving over twenty-two years in the Polk County school system, and a member of the Retired Teachers Assn. She enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Edwin Parris and A.J. Clemmer; brothers, James Earl Prince and E.L. Prince; sisters, Juanita Scarborough and Forrestine Brookshire.
Survivors include, sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Jo Parris, Eddie and Cheryl Parris; sisters, Jean Moore, Mary Parker and Martha Helton; grandsons and spouses Mark and Angela Parris, and Nathan and Jamie Parris; granddaughters and spouses, Tara Parris (Robert) Fraley and Manda Carol (Mike) Gwatney; great grandchildren, Sarah Parris, Reece Parris, Carson Parris, Jacob Fraley, Kristin Parris, Hannah Fraley, Leah Fraley, Hope Parris, Lora Gwatney; step-great-grandchildren, Evan Bobo, Andrew Barbour, Courtney Barbour and Robin Hunt; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2:00PM from Williamstown United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Black and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Music will be by the Primetime Choir and the great-grandchildren.
The following grandchildren and nephews have been asked to serve as pallbearers, Richard Prince, Tommy Prince, Bobby Brookshire, Bennie Brookshire, Steve Moore, Barry Parker, Charles Gilreath, Greg Gilreath, Mark Parris, Nathan Parris, Robert Fraley and Mike Gwatney.
Honorary escort, members of Williamstown United Methodist Church Adult Sunday School Class and Polk County Retired Teachers.
Interment will follow in the Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Finch Cochran Funeral Home Sunday evening August 14, 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
