The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Addie Mozelle Moore, age 88, of Hiawassee, who passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Saturday evening, April 29, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.
Mozelle was born on December 8, 1928 in Seneca South Carolina. She was the daughter of Thomas Henry and Corida Estella Shook. She was a graduate of Towns County High School where she played on the basketball team. Mozelle was an active member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church and the WMU. She enjoyed her time with the Esther Sunday School class and the singles group. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1975 where she held multiple positions including the Worthy Matron twice.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Knox Hilton, James Lamar Hedden, and William Moore; and son, Kenneth Hilton. She is survived by her son, Jeff Hedden; daughters, Linda Stamps, Jimmie Mayfield (Eddie), and Vivian Taylor (Denver); sisters, Kathy Potts and Jewell Jones; and brother, Norman Shook. Also, sharing in her legacy are her beloved 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Byers officiating. Eulogies will be given by Adam and Cory Mayfield. Special music will be presented by Teresa Gaffney and Alan Kendall. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Drew Oliver, Brandon Miller, Chris Howell, Jeremy Hedden, Brian Stamps, and James Mayfield. Honorary escort to the family will include Wayne Potts and Larry Harper.
Memorial Donations may be made to the McConnell Memorial Building Fund in honor of Mozelle.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service begins.
